Many ask why aren’t all models of Sig Sauer, S&W, Rugers, Colts, STIs, Caspian, Kimber, Kahr, etc. Massachusetts compliant?
There are a few manufacturers who will and have taken steps to submit their guns for compliancy testing, a requirement in MA.
The process isn’t simple or cheap. Five guns have to be submitted to an independent testing agency, along with several thousands of dollars. The guns are each fired over 100’s of rounds, and drop tested. If any of the guns encounter more than a certain number of failures, all submitted guns are rejected. Plus, the guns aren’t returned to the manufacturer.
Many manufacturers therefore choose not submit their guns for MA compliancy testing.
